Consultant – Strategic Communications & Public Affairs (Norway)

We are looking for a Consultant to join our Strategic Communications team in Norway. This role focuses on strategic communications, earned media, and public affairs, supporting clients in building their position and increasing visibility and influence in the Norwegian market.
You will work across a range of international and Norwegian clients, from advocacy organisations and NGOs to corporate clients, helping translate complex policy and business issues into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with media, stakeholders, and the public.
This is an ideal role for someone early in their career who combines strong analytical skills with excellent writing and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Public Affairs
• Conduct research on policy landscapes, public debate, and key developments across relevant sectors
• Map stakeholders, including policymakers, media, influencers, NGOs, and industry actors
• Analyse stakeholder positions and identify opportunities for engagement and influence
• Translate insights into clear, actionable communications recommendations
Strategic Communications & Campaign Support
• Support the development and implementation of Norway-focused communications and earned media strategies
• Contribute to narrative development, messaging, and positioning aligned with client objectives
• Identify opportunities to position clients within Norwegian public debate
• Support integrated campaigns, including upper-funnel awareness across media and social channels
• Contribute to communications support for corporate clients, including positioning, stakeholder engagement, and reputational messaging
Media Relations & Content Development
• Pitch stories, research, commentary, and spokesperson opportunities to Norwegian media
• Draft and adapt press materials, op-eds, media pitches, and talking points
• Develop content tailored to Norwegian audiences, including social and digital formats
• Ensure high-quality Norwegian language across all communications
• Build relationships with journalists, editors, commentators, and relevant public voices
• Identify and engage spokespeople, influencers, and third-party advocates
• Support media briefings, interviews, and press outreach
Coordination & Advisory
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment on messaging and strategy
• Advise on narratives, posiitoning and media opportunities within the Norwegian context
• Support planning around key moments, for example report launches and events
What you bring to the position
• Native-level Norwegian language skills with excellent writing and editing skills
• Good understanding of the Norwegian media landscape and political context
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in communications, public affairs, journalism, or similar
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to generate actionable insights
• Interest in advocacy, public policy, and societal issues
• Experience with earned media, campaigns, or NGO/advocacy work is an advantage
• Understanding of social media dynamics and upper-funnel communications is a plus
• Interest in or exposure to corporate communications or public affairs is a plus
• Comfortable working across both advocacy and corporate contexts
• Proactive, collaborative, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
